Profile

Smell

A combination of light grain malt and slightly grassy hop blend together well into a typical pilsner-style aroma. Quite mild and pleasant.

Taste

The flavour follows what you might expect from an American lager but with a little more jazz to it. The pilsner malts give it a slightly sweet flavour and a touch of fresh greens, but over all this is a mild beer with a crisp body that’s easy to drink, with a snappy finish and little to be said about the aftertaste.

Pairing

Perfect for pairing with Pizza. Get that slice into your face.

Sight

Pours a bright gold colour with clear body and low carbonation. A thin ring of small, white bubbles forms around the head of the beer.

Description

After more than a decade of craft brewing, 4 Hands Brewing Co. is moving into the comfort zone of a craft operation that has popularity and bedrock offerings on tap. Started in 2011, 4 Hands keeps the taps flowing alongside the Mississippi river, in the heart of St. Louis. From a conservative 30 barrel system, 4 Hands knocks out seven year-round beers and nearly a half-dozen others in each season. In 2016, the brewery began their “City Wide” program - when creating their first IPA, they dedicated a dollar from every case sold to a non-profit program in St. Louis. In the last four years, they’ve raised more than $200,000 for social programs and non-profit organizations around their city. 4 Hands chooses to be more than just a brewery, but an active force for good in the community. The City Wide Pils is an American-style pilsner, following the style of its European roots but with a milder hop profile and lean body. Serves well at 8°C and can cellar for up to six months.
