Profile
Smell
A lovely combination of earthy loam, roasted coffee, hints of leafy green freshness, and a heady aroma of coffee liqueur from the higher ABV.
Taste
The earthy, dark roasted malt flavour is a stand-out at the front of the taste. The dark, dusty cocoa and green elements of the hops come up from underneath as the strong malt flavour eases off. The body is incredibly silky and smooth, almost a creamy texture in the mouth. The taste fades off into a slightly green hop flavour with a touch of minerality, never losing the smooth feel as it fades away.
Pairing
A great beer to have with some BBQ - smoked brisket or a pork loin with apricots.
Sight
Pours a dark, inky brown colour with a completely occluded body and low carbonation. A thin ring of brown-tinted foam rides around the outer edge of the glass.

Description
When four buddies, working in a local Louisville brewery, looked out across the craft beer landscape in the 90s, they saw only a desolate land bereft of hope. Scraping together a few investors, they decided to open Louisville’s first brewer-owned operation and opened their doors in 2011. Their goal was providing an alternative to the mainstream beer - a brewery that had the gall and sheer grit to call their beer a “fart” beer. To worry less about marketing their brews as tough or iconic of manhood, and instead for their beer to be good. 35K follows the pattern of the classic Milk Stout - dusty baker’s cocoa and dark roast coffee flavours wrapped in a smooth, silky body fortified with milk sugars (AKA Lactose). Serves well at 6°C and can cellar for a few months.
