Description
I think it is a match made in heaven when you combine a brewery with a smokehouse in Louisville, Kentucky. This brewery has been in existence since 2011 and has produced a whopping 312 different beers at their 8,000-barrel facility. At ATG they pride themselves on their uniqueness, creativity, and their ability to make beer approachable. The names of their beers are pulled from pop culture and music references like Dwead Piwate Woberts, Wheaton Wine and Rauching Tiger, Hidden Flagon. They may be hilarious but they have some serious talent: they have won numerous awards for their brews in many national and international competitions. Their facility is located in the southeast corner of the Louisville Slugger Field, home to the minor league baseball team, and are situated in a farmer train station that was restored to highlight the ornate industrial architecture that is visible. The whole facility is powered by one of the nation’s only Victorian-styled, three story, copper-clad 15-barrel brewhouse. Being in the heart of Bourbon country, the spirit is reflected in some of their products such as the bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout. As co-owner Jerry Gnagy says, “we put all our emphasis on hops, smoke and barrels”.
