Smell
Roasted malt aromas, medium roast coffee beans, cocoa, raisinated fruit, floral hops, and earthy, leafy hops with a touch of floral perfume.
Taste
Leaner than the aroma will lead you to believe. All the elements from the nose are present - the body is smooth and delivers the sweet elements of caramel, fudge, toasted malt, but the hops have more of a foothold than you might expect. There’s stronger flavours of earthy, leafy hops and the floral component opens up on the palate. Sharp and tasty, with a smooth and sweet finish.
Pairing
Perfect for an Irish stew or chicken-pot pie. Whatever it is, make sure it’s hot and satisfying.
Sight
Pours black as printer’s ink and with low carbonation. A frothy head of darkly tinted foam rests on the top of the glass.

Begyle Brewing is a community supported brewing project located in the Ravenswood Industrial Corridor of Chicago - called “Malt Row” - and is dedicated to producing a diverse selection of easy-drinking, quality beer for beer drinkers of all sorts. Begyle is built on the principle of supporting the community, being part of the efforts to elevate and strengthen the fabric of their city. Their tap-room has 11 of their beers available for your enjoyment, and hosts local musicians and entertainment regularly. They’ve recently had their 10th birthday, and are proud to have been a landmark for their local beer drinkers to enjoy and feel welcome. The Flannel Pajamas are an Oatmeal Stout - smooth-bodied and rich in aromas of coffee, caramel, earthy hops with sweet floral hints, and roasted malts. Serves well at 10°C and can cellar for up to a year.
