Profile

Smell

The beer bursts on the nose with tons of tropical fruit, all of it: pineapple, mango, guava. There are also whiffs of a slightly earthy, dark pine/hints of resin notes coming through.

Taste

Medium bodied and firm, full of tropical fruit on the palate. It's all mango and pineapple, some hints of toasted bread, with a balanced bitterness and still that earthy pine in the background. Ripe and rounded, with a balanced acidity and a little hot, due to the higher alcohol content.

Pairing

BBQ chicken, Tikka Masala is so delicious with this one, pulled pork, and fried strong cheeses.

Sight

It's pure sunset gold with a slight haze to the core. It retains a perfect fluffy white head.

Description

Based out of Central Alberta, Blindman is an award-winning brewery that is based in the barley belt, in Lacombe. Using nothing but the best local high-quality ingredients, Blindman is one of Alberta’s leaders in creating top quality innovative flavourful beers. Some benchmarks would include the River Session Ale, Longshadows IPA, New England Pale Ale and the famous Five of Diamonds Pilsner. First built in the summer of 2015 by locals, Blindman continues to pride themselves on combining old-world styles and traditions and also using innovative technology in order to create what they believe is the best beer.   Community minded and also lovers of the great outdoors, this brewery also uses carbon recapture technology, 180 solar panels on their roof and their Paktech recycling system.  Their brewery has a 24-tap system so you can try all their beers and pair it with something from their Latin-inspired food menu. Kids and dog friendly. Go visit. The Double New Zealand IPA drinks so fresh and is so tantalizing, very heady with all that tropical fruit bursting at the seams. Fresh and bright, you won’t even notice its 7.6%! Because it is a fuller style of beer, serve it at 8C.
