Profile
Smell
As advertised the fruit aromas are powerful and sweet, leaning heavily into the grapefruit and melon. The hops are truly dank, delivering strong pine resin and some floral tickles.
Taste
Stronger on the hops side of the force, compared to the fruit. While the citrus and melon are riding in the backseat for the entire trip, the hops are in charge and make a few changes. Starting off piney, it drifts into the floral side of the hops, and turns quite bitter after the swallow. A fairly dry finish in the mouth with an aftertaste of earth and leaves.
Pairing
A good candidate for something hearty and spicy. When was your last Chicken Vindaloo?
Sight
Pours a pale yellow colour with a mostly clear body and very low carbonation. A thin layer of white bubbles floats atop the glass.

Description
More than a few radical craft breweries make their home in Portland, Oregon, and Breakside is making the most of it. Knocking out craft beer since 2010, Breakside Brewery has become a staple in the Portland area and even expanded outside Portland itself, opening up a larger-scale production facility in Milwaukie, OR. Multiple other locations have sprung up over the years, allowing Breakside to provide their tasty brew at a scale that can cross the continent, but also allowing each location to brew their own unique beers. Now they cultivate the neighborhood and the world with equal efficiency and intimacy. Quite the balancing act for a crew that started in a basement. The Wanderlust IPA is packed with a ton of different hops to give it a snappy, citrus kick to the tongue, along with dank hop notes that kick your palate with some bitterness. Serves well at 8°C and should be cracked soon.
