Profile

Smell

The tropical fruit stands at the front of the nose, delivering big hits of grapefruit, banana, and mango. In the background, the hops provide a strong floral aroma that’s a touch boozy.

Taste

Everything comes at your palate all at once - there’s sweet tropical fruit, mostly muddled together but with a touch of citrus zest peeking out, and the floral component of the hops. But sliding out from behind the curtain after a moment is a taste of more pine hops. It all balances well with a slightly astringent finish with a touch of bitter tea leaves in the aftertaste.

Pairing

The bitterness is mellow and fruit is sweet, so dig into something fatty off the grill that will complement but not crush out your beer.

Sight

Pours a pale yellow colour with a hazy body and medium carbonation. A frothy head of small, white bubbles pours from the can and calms down to a thin layer resting on top.

Description

The creators of Camp Beer Co. set out to create a relaxed meeting spot in the Fraser Valley, but one with tasty craft beers to make that meeting all the more desirable. Camp puts a lot of value on their community and encourages local artists to perform music, bring art, and otherwise enjoy the space in good company with the people who make the area their home. Their brewing sensibilities lean toward the adventurous - plenty of twists on classic styles and collaborations with other brewers gives Camp Beer Co. a fascinating history of beers they’ve released and something interesting for every beer drinker in their taproom. The Survival Camp is a hazy Triple IPA with big, juicy tropical fruit aromas, a well-balanced hop profile, and a crisp body that will wake up your taste buds. Serves well at 8°C and should be enjoyed promptly.
