Profile
Smell
It's a tight combination of green, leafy hops and muddle tropical fruit you'll smell off this beer. There's also a touch of what seems like tobacco leaf in the background.
Taste
The taste is more laid back than the nose would have you believe - you'll get the piney and leafy green hops and some tropical fruit sweetness, but it quickly shifts gears. It gets down into a floral hop profile and the rest is lost in the wash of high ABV, giving you only a boozy note. The finish is fairly dry and feels like you might light your breath on fire.
Pairing
Pair this up with a proper meat lover's pizza pie.
Sight
Pours a dark golden colour with a hazy body and low carbonation. A thin ring of bubbles clings to the sides of the glass.

Description
The germ of Flying Boats Brewing was first given life in the mind of owner Marc Melanson in the mid-1990s, but it would take years of brewing home kits in the garage before he felt ready to bring for the big show. Focusing on Maritime inspired beers, Flying Boats became the real deal in the summer of 2015. It only took six months for the brewery to massively expand their brewing operation. They moved from hand bottled to a full can system and busted open a proper taproom a few years later. Now their work is making its way across the country in trucks, boats, and by flying - whatever gets their handiwork to the masses as soon as possible. The Evil Lover is a Double IPA with some saucy hops, sweet fruit flavours, and an alcohol kick that will wake you up before knocking you out. Serves well at 7°C and can cellar for a little while, but should be enjoyed soonish.
