Profile

Smell

Warm grain aromas and a snappy, vinous aroma that will remind you of white grape juice mixed with pressed apples.

Taste

Taste follows the nose and it’s a subtle one. The warm grain malt mixes with the slightly astringent and snappy white grape character, but there’s enough of a citrusy edge that mixes with light, fresh hops to balance it all out. The body is smooth and light, snapping off the taste with a quick finish that leaves nothing on the palate.

Pairing

A great beer to pair up with a fresh catch of the day at any seafood spot. Or track down a great clam chowder.

Sight

Pours a pale golden colour with a hazy body and medium carbonation. A thin, frothy head of bubbles rests on top of the pour.

Description

Fremont Brewing is a family owned craft operation that opened its doors in 2009 and has been dedicated to small-batch artisanal beers ever since. Matt Lincecum and Sara Nelson founded Fremont on the idea of creating a delicious, homey brewery that focused on sustainable practices and community building. Fremont is a part of the Washington Brewers Guild and promotes craft brewing across the state. What started as a small operation has grown into two full-time brewing facilities on the East and West of Fremont, pumping out a combined 110 barrel line that keeps six year-round beers on the slate, along with a rotating IPA series and a boat-load of special releases. Sky Kraken is a Hazy Pale Ale bursting with melon, citrus, and pineapple backed by a light, spicy body. The hazy body comes from being unfiltered, letting the natural elements hang out. Serves well at 8°C and should be enjoyed promptly.
