Description

First dedicated gluten-free brewery in the USA crafting their ales from naturally gluten-free ingredients, producing in their certified 100% gluten-free brewery in the southeast of Portland. They opened their doors in 2011, their mission? To create the very best gluten-free beers possible for those who cannot ingest gluten whatsoever.  They never use oats and are corn sugar free.  They work closely with the Gluten-Free Certification Organization to the purity of their components.  Ground Breaker utilizes Eckert Malting & Brewing, Grouse Malt House, and Ancient Brands Milling for their ingredients.   Owner James Neumeister stumbled on a homebrew club when he was in culinary school and fell in love with brewing-in fact he became obsessed with brewing, quickly turning his career sideways when a friends Celiac Disease diagnosis inspired him to create what is Ground Breaker.  This Dark Ale has some intense salted caramel and light roasted notes with hints of chocolate and dark fruit. It’s a gluten-free beer which means it was brewed with dark roasted rice malt, chestnuts, lentils and dark Belgian-style Candi sugar.  Modestly bitter with just enough balance in its malt forwardness. It benefits from being served at 10C.
