Description

The brewery owners pay homage to the people who came out west and settled the area and created the local industry.  Hard Knox Brewery takes its cue from the miners and ranchers who have lived and worked the lands in Southern Alberta since the late 1800’s.  In fact, their flagship beers are dedicated to local heroes with personal descriptions of their ties to Alberta.  The brewery celebrates the historic town of the community of Black Diamond.  “Who hasn’t experienced hard knocks at some point in their life?” asks Pamela Lyken who is co-owner of Hard Knox alongside her brother Cory. The name of the brewery reflects the hard ships the early settlers went through while working the lands. The brewery is cozy and casual and comes complete with a 70- year- old bowling lane, and one can dine in the brewery as well. Family and dog friendly. This dark and brooding stout should be served at a cool 10C, in order to bring the flavours of the beer to the forefront, a sipping beer to be sure. It has been brewed using Local Black Sheep Coffee.
