Profile
Smell
A sweet caramel aroma stands on the top of the nose, complemented by a sharp citrus zest and strong floral hops.
Taste
The sweeter elements from the nose take a back seat in the taste. The hops are centre stage, delivering a slightly bitter, leafy flavour and a punch of floral flavours as the taste ages on the tongue. The body is fairly smooth and stays that way throughout the tasting. The finish is slightly dry and leaves behind a touch of the sweetness from the top of the taste.
Pairing
This is a perfect beer to pair up with a fat Lobster tail with butter sauce.
Sight
Pours a golden colour with a clear body and low carbonation. A frothy head from the pour recedes quickly to a thin ring of bubbles around the glass.

Description
Since the rational mind depends on known patterns, common expectations, and familiarity, it can breed boring beer and flat ideas. In order to find out where the next great brewing idea will come from, or to even be able to explore outside of the known to find it, one must give up the rational. One must embrace the Irrational. And that’s precisely what Edmonton’s Irrational Brewing Company aims to do. To let go of the confining normalcy of classic styles and well-known ingredients. Experimentation with new hops strains and techniques is how they intend to find their way into beer that explode the taste buds and minds of their regulars and irregulars. The Massif is a Double IPA and part of Irrationals experimental line. Built on specialized hops for funky flavour and big aroma, the Massif is unlike any IPA you’ve ever sampled, and powerful to boot. Serves well at 8°C and should be cracked right away.
