Profile

Smell

The aroma is slightly malty and has a floral quality, but also brings the slightly funky edge you’d normally expect in a sour or from Brettanomyces yeast.

Taste

Up front you’ll get a taste of muddled fruit but that’s quickly balanced out by a grainy malt and grassy hops flavour. Those shift gears quickly into a funkier and sweeter flavour that brings the champagne to mind. And like a dry sparkling wine, this beer starts off fairly smooth on the palate but quickly drives deep into an astringent feel and vinous flavour.

Pairing

Definitely a candidate for the well-stocked charcuterie board.

Sight

Pours a light yellow colour with a hazy body and low carbonation. A thin ring of bubbles around the top of the glass forms from the pour.

Description

If something is worth doing, it should be done with intention. That was the idea that brought Scott Saccary, Kevin Saccary, and Mike Gillespie to the doorstep of craft brewing. In their minds, anything they made should be done with care and purpose, so that the outcome delivered a purpose that people cared about. A trifecta emerged, where they created clothing, beer, and events that brought the people of Nova Scotia together. And through intention, gave them a meaning that was more than the sum of its parts. New Scotland Brewing Co. makes great things because of attention and care born from intentionality. Crack open the result and enjoy. The Light At The End Of The Tunnel is a small-batch, Champagne-style IPA with citrus notes and a crisp body that could cut a dollar bill in half. Serves well at 6°C and should be enjoyed promptly.
