Profile

Smell

Tangy on the nose with hints of freshly made biscuits. Lemon sour candies.

Taste

Light, crisp, bready notes with wheat germ, toast, grain, tart and fresh, dried citrus peel and pomelo. It’s a medium bodied beer that has a warm toasted edge, mixed with an acidic tang that brings the fruit to the front of the palate. Slightly earthy on the finish.

Pairing

Can’t help but pair this beer with a fish and chips dish, buttered halibut, or a summer BBQ.

Sight

Slightly hazy, with golden yellow undertones.

Description

So, what do you do when you’re told that your little craft brewpub under your restaurant can’t sell their beer to local beer stores? You open a brewery, well that is what Shaun O’Hearn did.  Shaun was an expert restaurateur with a penchant for craft brews. He began tinkering with recipes after discovering a love for craft beers, and before long decided to build a brewpub under his restaurant.  The problem lay, when locals wanted to purchase his beers outside of the establishment, and he found out his liquor license would’ t allow him to sell to liquor stores. With the help of his cousin, Danny, Shaun took his recipes from his small brewpub (his beers were immensely popular with the locals who frequented his establishment) and together they grew the idea into a reality.   Frig Off is a North-American Style Weizen that has delicious notes of bread, grain, toasted notes balanced out with a tangy finish. Rounded on the palate this beer is best served at 7C, too cold and it will be perceived as too bitter.
