Profile
Smell
Quite a lot of citrus and some banana, vanilla, and warm lightly toasted malt. Like a loaf of fresh bread out of the oven.
Taste
Quite sweet on the palate at first, but that eases off and lets some citrus, spices, and jolly feeling through. The spice and a touch of bitter, roasted elements come in to keep it from becoming saccharine, and they eventually bring a roasted coffee flavour in at the back half of the tasting. Mostly a smooth body that gets into a dryer finish, this beer ends with a kiss of sweetness and coffee.
Pairing
A solid pairing for Turkey and all the fixings... with the right gravy you’ll believe in Santa again.
Sight
Pours the colour of coffee with a bit of daylight coming through the body and low carbonation. A thick head of puffy bubbles rests on top of the pour.

Description
R&B Brewing Co. has the distinction of being one of Vancouver’s original craft breweries and has been putting out quality microbrews in East Vancouver since the late 1990s. Starting out as a small operation in 1997, Barry Benson and Rick Dellow have grown over the years, creating a brewpub worthy of some travel. And at the same time they’ve upped their output and broadened out the slate of beers. Since starting they’ve brewed more than 150 beers and they keep 14 of their best works on tap for the thirsty traveller to enjoy. Auld Nick is a winter ale full of good cheer and spicy body. But that spice is backed up with some sweetness and depth to make sipping this fine brew in front of the fireplace a real treat. Serves well at 8°C and should be enjoyed soon for maximum joy.
