Profile

Smell

A strong whiff of muddled tropical fruit and citrus edge mixes with a flat, earthy aroma of hops that opens up to some green leafy aroma near the end.

Taste

An interesting combination of slightly sweet tropical fruit and a yeasty funk at the front end of the taste. It drifts away from the funky, into a more classic interpretation of a pale ale, with the hops lifting up and balancing the sweetness. The body is fairly smooth with a drier finish and the aftertaste leaves behind some green leafiness from the hops.

Pairing

Dig into a spicy cajun chicken sandwich and enjoy the day.

Sight

Pours a light golden colour with a hazy body and low carbonation. A thin layer of pillowy white bubbles rests on top of the pour.

Description

Small Gods Brewing is a tidy brewing collective in the seaside village of Sidney, British Columbia. Brewing since 2020, Small Gods has built itself on the ideas of openness and service to those in need. Small Gods chose a theme of “books” for their taproom, not only predicating the layout, decor, and colour scheme in the style of a well-organized book, but also bringing books themselves into the space. Like a friendly local library, Small God’s welcomes all ages to enjoy the space and has regular readings, book swaps, and book clubs. So if you’re traveling along the coast and need somewhere to rest your weary soul, have a pint, and read a good tome... look no further. The Promised Land is a Pale Ale with a hazy body and bold fruit flavour. Backed by a strong hop profile and smooth body, it’s a tasty addition to your pale ale arsenal. Serves well at 8°C and should be enjoyed promptly.
