Profile
Smell
Most of what you’ll catch on the nose is the barley malt and floral elements. There’s a hint of citrus zest around the edges but it doesn’t announce itself too strongly.
Taste
The combination of barley malt and wild hops gives this beer a balanced flavour, making a tasty mix of grains and citrus notes. The floral taste from the hops is subtle up front, but will get stronger on the back half of the taste. The mouth feel is fairly smooth but with enough bite to wake up your taste buds. Finishes up with a silky mouthfeel and a slight taste of lemon left behind.
Pairing
A solid beer to go with any tapas menu, especially anything with a touch of spicy kick.
Sight
Pours a pale golden yellow colour with a touch of haze in the body and low carbonation. A thin head of frizzy bubbles clings to the top of the glass.

Description
With over three years of brewing, SYC Brewing in Edmonton, Alberta, has moved from a local taproom with tasty beers, to a brewer that is getting national attention. Started in 2019, SYC has been operating in the industrial sector of Edmonton and producing more beers in three years than many manage in a decade. Rocking a slate with nearly twenty available beers, spanning the styles of Italian Pilsner, Dry-hopped Ale, Blonde, French Blanche, Saison, and more, SYC is taking old-world styles and making sure anyone who tastes them knows they have new-world craft behind them. Sourcing all of their ingredients from the farms and producers of Alberta, SYC is dedicated to creating beers that are delightful to drink and produced at the highest quality. The Afternoon Hoot is a session ale made with a wild strain of hops, delivering citrus and floral flavours on a backbone of barley malt. Serves well at 8°C and should be enjoyed within a few months.
