Profile

Smell

A beautiful example of Kölsch aroma – subtle fruitiness that gives off an almost candied sugar, some dusty clove and pepper that have been hanging out in the wooden cupboard, and floral notes from the hops.

Taste

You’ll find this a more mild example of Kölsch flavour. The body is soft as expected and there’s a touch of sweetness that will put you in mind of banana or melon, and the spices are present but laid back. Overall this beer has a very quick taste, flashing across the palate and fading off to a dry finish. Give it a chance to warm up in the mouth when you take a sip so you can enjoy everything it has to offer.

Pairing

A solid pub food beer, but learn toward a burger or beef dip to really give it a partner.

Sight

Pours a very pale yellow colour with a clear body and low carbonation. A touch of bubbles ring the top of the glass but not much else.

Description

The doors to Tripping Animals Brewing Company opened up in the heart of Doral, Florida in 2018. But the story of Daniel Chocron, Ignacio Montenegro, Iker Elorriaga, and Juan-Manuel Torres began almost a decade earlier. These lads began their craft brewing out of a garage in Caracas, Venezuela. Those early days were filled with odd recipes and skewed styles, but it stoked a fire inside the group - they were going to open their own brewery and taproom.Traveling around the world to visit breweries and learn about classic styles, they screwed up their courage and moved to Miami. And the story goes on from there. Tripping Animals is focused on building craft beer culture in Doral and around Miami, and now abroad. The Killer Kölsch is inspired by the old-world style - light-bodied, soft in the mouth and tastes spicy with strong herbal hops. Serves well at 8°C and can cellar for up to six months.
