Profile

Smell

A very bready aroma that will remind you of a schnitzel sandwich and an interesting but tricky to identify combination of spices.

Taste

A fairly mild flavour that starts off with grain but shifts down almost immediately into a toasted bread and earthy flavour. There’s a touch of salinity and pepper, but the spices that were teased in the aroma aren’t to be found. A light, crisp body that’s easy to drink and a snappy finish. This is definitely a solid, easy drinking patio beer that will make for a great summer addition.

Pairing

Anything off the pub menu will do well with this beer, especially the burger.

Sight

Pours a light golden colour with a clear body and low carbonation. Only a thin, wispy head of foam pours from the can.

Description

True North Ale Company launched in 2017 on Boston's North Shore, the rustic town of Ipswich. Reflecting the heritage of the small town, built on a community of fisherman and seaman, their name is an encapsulation of the town’s spirit. A no nonsense place where great beer is exactly what hard working people need. Built by the father and son team of Gary and Jake Rogers, True North took traditional know-how and combined it with cutting edge brewing equipment and quality customer service in their taproom. Their dual-brewing setup lets them put out big numbers on their fan favourite beers but also throw out some seasonal experiments. The Holy Schnitt is a Helles Lager, based on the classic German style that’s light in the body, smooth on the palate but with a touch of character. Serves well at 8°C and can cellar for up to six months.
