Profile

Smell

The aroma of toasty biscuit malts, honey, and just the smallest hint of grassy hops combine into a well-balanced blend on the nose.

Taste

The slightly sweet, biscuit malt is front and centre on the flavour. The slightly grassy hops creep around in the back of the taste, but there’s a flavour of apricot that flits in and out, almost making you question if its there. The mouthfeel is electric, waking up the tongue, and has a slightly chalky finish. Well-balanced flavour, but it goes by in a snap.

Pairing

Perfect beer for a heaping plate of nachos.

Sight

Pours a pale yellow colour with a clear body and low carbonation. A thin scattering of white bubbles forms on the top of the beer.

Description

The gateway to the Rocky Mountains is located on the Trans-Canada Highway and it’s called Golden. Everything west of this small hub is god’s country and it sports some of the greatest land known to man. White Tooth Brewing has distilled this idea down into a nectar and sealed it in glass bottles. They want only paper for it. Once you’ve turned Kicking Horse into your personal ski-lodge, head down the highway to the White Tooth tasting room and get a pint of it into your belly, or get a bomber of your favourite brew and head back to a log cabin with a roaring fire. Listen to classic rock. The Backyard Bivouac Pilsner is a Belgian-style Pilsner made using classic malt and noble hops for a crisp beer perfect for sitting in front of the hearth. Serves well at 8°C and can cellar for six months.
